The Constant Hall Partners Program

Description of the Program

The Constant Hall Partners Program (CHPP) is an association between the business community and Old Dominion University's College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA). The primary return to our partners is visibility. A plaque with each partner company's name and corporate logo is placed on the wall in the lobby of the first floor of Constant Hall. (See picture below.) This display demonstrates to students, faculty, staff, and visitors passing through the building that the College is engaged with Hampton Roads businesses. Corporate sponsors will be invited to select College functions, including the State of the College Address and a dedicated recruiting forum.

A primary objective of the program is to create closer ties to the regional business community. Our students are future employees of local businesses. We hope that this program will create a closer link between the students and faculty and area enterprises. Everyone passing through Constant Hall will see the plaques with company names. This will serve as a "constant" reminder of the composition of the local business community.

Need for the Program

The CHPP helps the CBPA acquire recurring financial resources for such purposes as: faculty development and research support, support for students to study abroad or attend organization meetings, production of marketing materials and external communications, entertaining for students and other constituents, and other miscellaneous items that help to improve the quality of life in CBPA. Budget cuts in recent years have severely constrained resources available for these purposes. Many business schools have similar partnership programs to help enhance operating budgets.

The Executive Advisory Council Partnership

The Executive Advisory Council (EAC) is a special partner to the CBPA. Several EAC members have had their companies join our program. In addition we are seeking to create a display for the council as a unit. Each year we will put up a new partnership plaque for the EAC that lists the names of those who are currently members.
