Mr. Jimmie Carraway Information Technology 2077 Constant Hall 757-683-4345 jcarrawa@odu.edu
Rank: Senior Lecturer
Mr. Carraway has been on the faculty at Old Dominion University since 1985. His teaching philosophy is one of practicality. He believes that it is “the mission of the IT curriculum to provide students with an understanding of information technology as it relates to modern business systems”. A belief he integrates into all of his course offerings.
His effectiveness as an instructor is reflected in the numerous public acknowledgments he has received, including, the College’s Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award, the Faculty Appreciation Award, the Favorite Professor Award, the Outstanding Faculty Certificate of Appreciation, and, on four separate occasions, the Most Inspiring Faculty Award, as determined by the college’s Outstanding Scholar.
During his time at the university he has taught virtually every course offered in the IT curriculum, but his major focus has been in the areas of Systems Analysis, Systems Design, and IT Project Management. |
