John Griffith joined the department of Finance in 1999. He teaches the MBA finance case course, Corporate Financial Policy and Control. At the undergraduate level, he teaches Intermediate Corporate Finance and Financial Decision Making. His research interest are mergers and acquisitions, agency theory and executive compensation.

Professor Griffith received his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 1995 and a BS in economics from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1977. Before becoming a professor, he work for E. F. Hutton and company as an investment banker and prior to that worked for Fidelity National Bank as a work out loan officer.
