Sylvia Hudgins received her Doctorate in 1987 from Virginia Tech. She teaches classes in corporate finance and financial institutions. Much of her research focuses on the empirical analysis of commercial banks and thrifts. She examines questions concerning management, regulation, and legislation. The journals publishing her research include: Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Financial Management, Journal of Financial Economics, and Economic Inquiry. Professionally she serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Finance Association and on the Board of Editors for the Financial Management Association’s Survey and Synthesis Series. In the community, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Old Dominion University Credit Union, the Canterbury Center for Campus Ministry, and Crystal-Lind Wellness Center. She is presently writing a textbook on commercial bank management with Peter Rose of Texas A&M University that will be published by McGraw-Hill in 2005. |
