Haiwen Zhou joined ODU in 2005.  He is currently the E. V. Williams Faculty Research Fellow of CBPA (2008-1011).

He received his Ph. D. in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2002.  His Ph. D. Thesis "Three essays on industrial organization" was supervised by Professors Lawrence Ausubel, John List, Deborah Minehart, Yingyi Qian, Robert Schwab, and Daniel Vincent (committee chair).  He received his B. A. in economics from Nankai University.

His research and teaching fields include international economics, economic development and growth, and industrial organization.
