John C. Morris joined the Department of Urban Studies and Public Administration in 2002. He teaches courses in policy evaluation, public policy, and organization in both the Master of Public Administration and Ph.D. in Urban Services programs. His research interests include privatization, water policy, federalism, and organization theory. He has published in journals such as Public Administration Review, Policy Studies Review, the Journal of Politics, Environmental Policy, and Public Works Management & Policy, among others.
Professor Morris received his Ph.D. from Auburn University in 1994 and B.A. and M.A. degrees from Auburn University in 1982 and 1985, respectively. He spent several years as an evaluator with a firm in Washington, DC, and also served as the Research Coordinator at the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University. After receiving his Ph.D. in 1994 Professor Morris joined the faculty of Mississippi State University, where he taught for eight years.

Dr Morris is trained as an evaluator and policy analyst, and has additional expertise in qualitative research methods. He has expertise in the following substantive policy areas:
