Dr. Jing Zhang

Dr. Zhang joined the faculty at ODU in 2012. She teaches Business Policy and Strategy, International Business and PhD seminar on Strategic Entrepreneurship. Her primary research interests deal with technological innovation, knowledge management and entrepreneurship. Her current research projects focus on venture capital investment in China and worldwide.
Dr. Zhang has more than a dozen of refereed publications in journals such as "Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice", "Journal of Business Venturing", "Journal of Management", "Journal of Management Studies", and "Research Policy" to name a few. She serves on the editorial board for the journal "Long Range Planning" (Elsevier Science). She is currently an ad hoc reviewer for the journals such as "Academy of Management Journal", "Organization Science", "Organization Studies", "Research Policy", "Journal of Business Venturing" and "Journal of Management Studies", "Entrepreneurship & Regional Development".
Prior to ODU, Dr. Zhang has worked at Iowa State University since 2007, where she has taught Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Feasibility Analysis and Business Planning. Dr. Zhang has worked in Lancaster University and City University London in England for four years before coming to the U.S. She has also worked in Lenovo Co. (Beijing, China) as a strategic and financial analyst.
Dr. Zhang received her PhD from the Business School at National University of Singapore (Singapore) and Master's and bachelor's degrees on Business Management from Renmin University of China (Beijing, China). Dr. Zhang is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), International Association of Chinese management Research (IACMR) and the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
