William M. Leavitt joined the Department of Urban Studies and Public Administration in 1993. He teaches in the Master of Public Administration program, the Master of Urban Studies program, and the Ph.D. program in Urban Services with his specialty areas in human resource management, organizational theory, and urban service administration. His research interests focus on public sector human resource management, organizational design, and service delivery.
Associate Professor Leavitt received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in 1986, the MPA degree from the University of Colorado in 1974, and a B.A. degree from New York University in 1970. He is a Certified Compensation Professional and previously worked in a variety of positions over a nineteen-year period for the municipal water utility in Denver, Colorado. He is also a former Peace Corps Volunteer. Expertise: Dr. Leavitt has expertise in the following areas: public human resource and compensation management; organizational design; business process reengineering; and customer service delivery. |
