Laurie Henry joined the Department of Accounting in 1993. She teaches the undergraduate Accounting Information Systems and undergraduate and graduate Governmental and Non-Profit accounting. Her research interests include accounting history, governmental accounting, and accounting information systems management.
Professor Henry received her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Mississippi in 1993, a Masters of Public Accountancy from Loyola College in Baltimore in 1996, and her Bachelors of Environmental Design from North Carolina State University in 1975. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Governmental Financial Manager. Dr. Henry previously worked for the State of Maryland Income Tax Division from 1978 to 1989 as a corporate tax auditor and administrator of the receipts reporting area. Prior to working for the State, she was employed as a financial accountant at Western Publishing Co.,Inc. from 1977 to 1978 supervising the Accounts Payable and Inventory functions.
