Dr. Xu is a Professor in the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences. He teaches database, data warehouse, data mining, business intelligence and other courses. Dr. Xu's research interests include MIS foundational theory and methodologies, business intelligence, enterprise information systems in e-commerce, ERP, and intelligent systems.

Professor Xu has his Ph.D in Systems Sciences with emphasis on information systems from Portland State University, Oregon in 1986, and M.S. in Information Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1981.
