Shaomin Li is Haislip-Rorrer Faculty Research Fellow and Professor of Management and International Business.He also serves as an Associate Editor for Corporate Governance: An International Review.
Professor Li has written more than 100 journal articles, book chapters, book reviews, and editorials. He has also published 13 books. Six of his articles are published/accepted in the "Financial Times Top 40 Journals," including the California Management Review, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, and Management International Review.His study has been featured twice in The Economist. He has been interviewed by Businessweek, Harvard Business Review, Newsweek, Science, CNN, Foxnews, and the Voice of America.His editorials have appeared in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.Professor Li also served as an expert witness at US Congress on China's reform.A report by Michigan State University indentified him as one of "the 89 most prolific authors in the field," based on publications in five top-tier international business journals from 1996 to 2005.
In 2008 the Virginia Governor Tim Kaine awarded him the Outstanding Faculty Award, the Commonwealth's highest honor for faculty at Virginia's colleges and universities, for his "superior accomplishments in teaching, research, and public service."
Professor Li served as a director of AT&T EastGate Services and was the founding CEO of iEast.com Ltd (Hong Kong). He was an advisor to the United Nations in 1993.
Professor Li taught at Peking University, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Yonsei University (Korea), and National Sun Yat-sen University (Taiwan).
Professor Li graduated from Peking University, received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University.
