Beazeley Professor
Wayne K. Talley joined the College of Business
and Public Administration in 1972. He teaches courses
in Transportation Economics and Port Economics.
His research investigates determinants of the severity
and oil spillage of vessel accidents and the effects
of deregulation and privatization on the wages of
transportation industries.
Professor Talley received his Ph.D. from the University
of Kentucky in 1972 and M.A. and B.A. degrees from
the University of Kentucky and the University of
Richmond in 1971 and 1965, respectively. He is the
Executive Director of the International Maritime,
Ports and Logistics Management Institute and holds
the designations of Eminent Scholar and the Frederick
W. Beazley Professor of Economics.
Expertise: A transportation economist specializing
in costing, safety, environmental and labor issues
in transportation, with a particular focus on maritime
transportation.
