Dr. Xu joined the department of accounting in 2001. She teaches accounting courses including Intermediate Accounting and Principles of Accounting. Her research interest includes behavior research in managerial accounting, auditing, and ethics, as well as accounting history.

Professor Xu received her Ph.D. and Master of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina in 2001 and 1996, and B. S. from the University of Akron in 1989. She is a Certified Public Accountant, and member of American Accounting Association and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
